A neat right hand motion using a repeated hammer-pull-hammer-pull. Billy Faier recorded the tune "Green Corn" using this lick to great effect in the 1960s. A discussion on Banjo Hangout prompted me to tab and play this.

  • I met with Billy a couple of weeks ago in Saugerties and he inspired me to learn this great tune the "correct" way after butchering it for 50 years. Your clip helped.

  • @mainer98 Cool. I was very surprised to see on Billy's site that his album notes for Green Corn include this: "If you go to Billy Faier on YOU TUBE you will see a bearded fellow demonstrating this strum very slowly. It isn't me, but he's got it right." Sorta made my day. :-)

  • He thinks the bearded guy is you. If not you, then who? (BTW...I'm "mainejohn" on BHO)

  • Billy is presently in Marathon, Texas. Stop by on your way to Big Bend. He also has his own website under his name.
