EDIT: A bit of background info... I was NOT supposed to be the co-star of this video. Basically, the night before the shoot, the original actor called out sick on me. This being said, the only person I could get to fill in for the "Charles" role was myself. IF we stuck to the original plan (and had more than 3 hours to shoot), this would've probably turned out better. But, it seems like the feedback for this project was mostly positive nonetheless.

This was a narrative project I did for a lighting class. It's a remake of a scene from Yuen Biao's 1986 movie Righting Wrongs, aka Above The Law (not the Steven Seagal one). In the original, Melvin Wong's character kills James Tien's character over a discrepancy about Tien's crimes. This version, Wong's character is played by Kenny Johnson and Tien's character is played by yours truly

  • Cinematography was great. I wish I had a better camera. I was expecting some HK style fights, but the quick and violent stuff worked too since it was dark.

  • Wow, thanks for the comment! Funny thing was, I was worried about the cinematography since I had to act AND direct, and couldn't be behind the camera the whole time. And yeah, we went for a dark and moody "film noirish" look to make up for the lack of an actual fight scene :-b

  • Wow, thanks for the comment... I honestly thought I could've done better with this, but it was the usual case of being rushed to get things finished! I would LOVE to have directed one of the fight scenes, but I'm lacking martial arts actors and the HD camera I used to shoot this :-b
