yeah, game maker is a GREAT start for people who are interested in making games but are too young o learn about C++

I think you should keep practicing with Gamemaker. You can create much better games with it. Join some Gamemaker community, for example gamemakergames [dot] com, and the people there will be able to help you out.

i like popfly, im 12 yrs old and its fairly easy, gamemaker is too hard for me though =/

It might take a lot longer to learn but if your heart is set on making games then that is the way to go. You only have to look at the quality of these games to realise you will be wasting your time, look at games that you buy in the shops and realise that they would have been made in C++ and DirectX simply because of the power and control you have with these programs, also speed is a major factor in making games and programs like game maker are very slow.

If you really want to make games, take my advise and don't bother with any of these game making programs, you will never make anything decent, and the time you waste learning to master programs like gamemaker could have been spent learning C++ and DirectX.
