hey man I'm looking at old vintage amps and I wanna get a marshall jcm800 2203 and some sort of vintage fender for a sick clean channel, what are all the good vintage fender models called?

@jlaw666 - A blackface Twin Reverb or a Showman of some sort should get you all the clean you can handle.

So you've got two 100 watt speakers with only 45 watts pushing them, thats A LOT of clean headroom

Yup. Has to be so that I can use it with 100-watt Marshall and 135-watt Fender Bass heads. Don't forget that wattage still increases as the amp starts to clip (distort) so having them overrated is essential so they won't fail when driving an amp real hard.

@worldoftone How does that Marshall sound through that cab? I've actually been looking at getting one of those oversized vertical 212 Bassman cabs, loading it with Scumback M75LHDC 100 watters, and playing my Soldano Hot Rod 50 through it ahaha! I just hope the Bassman cab has the right fatness and projection, and isn't boomy or anything

@jacobtheguitarfreak - That will be an interesting combo. I've had those type of cabs in the past. The vertical Bassman cabs CAN get boomy . . . but it might work out great with that Soldano and the 75s! Hot Rod 50 is a great amp.

Haven't measured it but most likely around 40-45. Had this one out on a gig Saturday A/Bed with my '69 SB + 4 x 12 cab. That rig cuts through real well for bass during outdoor gigs.

They are proving fantastic. Deep, round tone, no real speaker breakup unless pushed with a bass using a 100-watt head. The Marshall 4x12 on the left of the screen has original 55hZ Celestions, and the Scumbacks sound every bit the part. I really dig 'em. Now my "new" favorite cab!
