(Sorry about the blurry text, I'll re-do it later)Mom used to sing all the time but she stopped over a year ago. On the way home from her third injection, she heard "over the Rainbow" on the radio, and started singing! Quietly, shyly, hesitant but she was singing. Anyway, since then, I've been able to get her to sing occasionally with the radio in the car. But today (After 6 injections) for the first time in years she actually chose to join in at home! I ran and got my camera and started taping...I am very very happy.
Enbrel works...why haven't the experts looked back into this for others? Aren't they supposed to be on our side?
I hope my videos give hope to many of you caregivers out there in desperation. The word is getting out, and doctors are being trained. Contact the INR to find out if there will be a doctor in your state soon. Some states so far are NY, TX, MI, FL and IN. Those are the only ones I know for sure right now.

  • Hi all,

Mom has since passed away because of other health issues. The treatment was working, but she had other problems that kept pushing her backward...3 surgeries in one year was just too much. We had to stop the treatment, and when we did, she just drifted away from us. But I am grateful for the extra time we had with her.

    Felicia

  • Thank you!

  • I feel I should add a little here because someone commented that this is probably a short lived result. This was a small study, but several of Dr. T's patients that continued the treatment have been receiving it now for over 3 years and they are doing great. One is 90 years old now. Even Dr. T doesn't know how long the treatment will stay effective, but so far so good.

    Felicia

  • @famc17 -- ah, okay. I was responding to one of his posts on this page. Too bad about Linda because you can tell by just looking at her that she was a beautiful, smart lady. So sad. But so happy about Rose! Wish we could do this for my grandma.

  • @mundymanor

Hi Mundy, This showed up on my page so you may want to try again on Bob Lee's page (tumates). II didn't really think about Linda having a stroke, but you are right and that could be why she lost her ability to walk. He had also mentioned she had some seizures which I feel may have caused more damage. I haven't heard much from Bob lately regarding Linda. I think he's still giving her injections, and just hoping for a cure in the future.

    Thanks, Felicia

  • @tumates -- I saw your videos of Linda. I am wondering if she perhaps had some ministrokes or something that caused her to revert. The sudden frequent falling kind of clued me in. I worked at a nursing home for years and just kind of learned to notice small things that could easily slip by others. One thing I've noticed about a lot of Alz patients on Enbril here is they are not mean. My grandma has Alz, and has gotten downright mean and hateful. Very typical.

  • This is absolutely beautiful what a lovely voice, you Mom has! This brought a tear to my eye - and so fitting she chooses the Ave Maria and Silent Night (!)

God Bless You for the good work you have done in seeking an "alternative" therapy for your Mom - despite the expense, and no doubt, the many who would discourage you.

Thanks so much for documenting this for the world to see!

  • I am so thrilled for you to have your Mom back. What a blessing!

  • I am so amazed! My mum has early PPA and this has given us such hope. We are off to the US!! I am so happy for yoiu and your family. All the best:)

  • Felicia,

This video made me cry, how wonderful. I lost both of my fathers parents to Alzh. and their behavior reminded me of your mother's in the first video. To see this one was inspiring, if only I could hear my grandparents sing again.

Now my 62 yr. old father is also showing signs. They didn't show any signs until their late 70s. We must get the word out.

I will contact Dr. Tobinick in hopes of there being someone in NC who might be able to treat him. Thank you.

  • This is very impressive. I am on Enbrel for psoriatic arthritis and it has changed me from being effectively disabled and almost unable to brush my teeth to having very little pain and stiffness and even being able to play some sports again. It's great to see that it can also help with Alzheimers. Whether the effects are short lived or not I can scarcely imagine how wonderful it is to have your mother back for a time.
