Part 3 of the last inning of Sal Maglie's no-hitter for the Brooklyn Dodgers over the Philadelphia Phillies from September 25, 1956 as broadcast on radio with Jerry Doggett and Vin Scully doing the play-by-play. This was recorded off-air by a local DJ in Connecticut who was waiting for the game to end before his air shift.

  • Yes, relievers were mop up guys for the most part back then. Starting pitchers were expected to finish games no matter what the score was.

  • Funny how Vin says he "only" completed 7! Today most pitches barely do that in a career.

  • Vin and Jerry...so great. I miss Jerry!

  • Vin and Jerry were my childhood heroes as much as Wills, Koufax, and Drysdale!

  • These are pretty cool.
