The last bit about people really resonated with me. I think I'm bipolar, but I refuse to be diagnosed. But when you were talking about people and having that disconnect, it made me think of how I respond to people in my life that care and love me. When they tell me, "I love you" or "you're loved," I just feel like it has no effect. I can be told I'm loved by hundreds of people... but it doesn't have an affect... kinda like I'm missing out on something everyone else is tuned into...

I feel you man. I have suffered from major depressive disorder for the greater part of the past 6 years. Sometimes I don't even have the energy to get out of bed for days. I don't eat when I'm depressed either cause I don't get hungry. I really understand when you said that being that depressed is like being dead but not knowing it yet. It's a really shitty hand to be dealt. I hope you're feeling better.
