I groaned as my eyes searched through more things in the store and didnt land on anything interesting. This was getting tiring. I had known Joe for almost 3 years-not counting the 2 years we were apart-and I didnt have a clue on what to get him for his birthday. This was pathetic.
Demi: Help me, Nick! *frowns*
It was a good idea that I had brought Nick along to help me. I mean, he was his brother and he knew him. Right?
Nick: Demi, I really need you to get off of me right now.
His tone was tiring. I sighed and got off his back. He stretched and walked around the store. I tailed behind him looking at his face go from frown to smile to frown again and then a shake of the head.
Demi: So? *eagerly*
Nick: *shakes his head* This is no good, we might need to go to another store.
Demi: You sound like a doctor telling me that the patient is dying. This isnt Private Practice Nick. Were just looking for a birthday present for Joe.
Nick: Yes, Joe. Youre love. You need to get something special for him.
Demi: Since when did you get so deep?
Nick: Since I slept with Selena. *smirks*
Ok, that was definatly something I did not need to know! But Nicks a man, and he has be proud of something right? Ew, mental picture I did not need to have. I scrunched up my face and closed my eyes. When I opened them Nick was giving me a look. I shrugged innocently and walked out of the store. Nicks footsteps followed behind me and soon enough he was right next to me.
Nick: I bet if it was your birthday he wouldnt have to even blink an eye to know what hes gonna get you.
Demi: Thats because the guy is suppose to be the romantic one. Im the girl. You know, they say we are complicated but its not true. Guys are picky too!
Nick: We are NOT. *offended*
Demi: Oh yeah? Then why the heck cant I find a fricking present for JOE!?!!
Nick: *smiles* Calm down, I know just the right thing.
Nick walked past me and into Michael Kors. I groaned and walked after him. What is he doing? I stared at him as he looked through the whole store. I finally just stood by the doorway and let my mind wander. Tomorrow was August 17th. In 3 days it would be MY birthday. How ironic that we have our birthdays in the same month.
My thoughts were interrupted when Nick walked towards me with a black plastic bag in his hand. He handed it to me and we walked out.
Demi: That was quick.
Nick: Really? *checks his watch* I took like half an hour.
Demi: Oh.
I guess I let my mind wander longer than I thought. Wow, Im a deep thinker. We walked out of the mall and got into Nicks car. He started it and starting driving towards the University-his dorm-. I opened the bag and took out the medium sized leather box that was inside. I looked at it in awe.
Nick: The gifts INSIDE, Demi.
Demi: Pretty box
Nick rolled his eyes at me as I stroked the smooth black leather. I opened the box slowly to reveal an expensive looking Michael Kors watch. My jaw dropped. It had a silver band, the actual time watch was cold and had a silver string around it that you could twist to attach the time. The glass was smooth and shiny and the numbers inside were black and looked as shiny as nylon. The hands were gold and had 3 diamonds on each of them. I was speechless, over the edge and just breathless, I never thought I could catch this beautiful watch (a/n: Haha! Recognize the words?) I closed the box and put it in the bag then turned to Nick.
Demi: Howhow much did it cost?
Nick: A lot.
Demi: *takes out her wallet* Nick, tell me the amount now.
Nick: *puts his hand on hers but keeps his eyes on the road* No, Demi. Hes my brother, and youre like a sister to me. I was willing to pay. Dont sweat it.
Demi: Too late.
I took out the 350 dollars that I had stuffed in my wallet and stuffed it into Nicks pocket. He groaned then rolled his eyes.
Nick: It really wasnt that much. I had the 2,000 dollars handy.
Demi: Who keeps 2,000 dollars in their wallet?!
Nick: Who keeps this much in their wallet?!
Nick pointed to the bump the money had made in his pocket.
It looked wrong.
I bit my lip to keep from laughing.
Demi: Youre happy.
Nick parked the car and looked at me, then looked at the bump the money had made. He groaned.
Nick: Youre gross.
Demi: Im sorry if it looks that way. If I were I would take that out from there, Mr. Horny.
Nick: Im not horny.
Demi: Sure doesnt look like it.
I smirked and got out of the car. Nick soon caught up to me with the money in his hand.
Nick: Happy now?
Demi: Yeah. Looks like youre not happy anymore though.
Nick: Ugh! Since when were you so perverted?
Demi: *I mocked him* Since I slept with Joe.
Nick: Eck!
Demi: Exactly.
