@SPINNEYFUCK Wow I am chuffed you played it. I could only just complete it back then. I had to use the cheat pokes, there is a "backdoor" in to the "basic" and the code but i can't remember it. I was a devious fecker even back then so yes it's a hard game but I swear it's possable. I'll give you a tip. Some robots dont kill ya.

I only bought about 20 games for my Spectrum 48K before I upgraded to a Commodore 64, Tau Ceti was one of those 20, and was one of the first C64 games I bought for my new C64, C2N and 1641 floppy! :)

Never played Tau Ceti but Academy was superb.
Pete was my maths teacher at school, we wrote "Jet Set Gertie" together around that time. Ahaha would love to catch up with Pete and Chris. Many hours spent at the programming table.

@TheRadwulf Thanks for the background story. Jet Set Gertie is a pretty frustrating game. Just had a quick go at it. I guess I need more practice.

It was the atmosphere! lol
I liked the idea of being alone on a planet with crazy robots

Well, I can appreciate that. I can imagine that this game has its fans. Maybe the fact that I had no instructions for it years ago put me off it as well.

This game was the reason I bought a +3 !

To be honest the game doesn't do much for me. Played the 48K version in '85 but preferred the Ultimate stuff. I got my +3 so I could play Where Time Stood Still.
