  • I dunno maybe I'm ignorant but female boas don't put on crazy size until the 2nd year I have a 2.5 year old boa who is 5 feet, never power fed slow grower in my opinion. And almost no Colombian boa is over 10 lbs after 2 years, if so that is a beastly snake in my opinion heck they dont breed until 3-3.5 years when they have proper weight and hit 3 years close to 6 feet. I could be wrong.

  • @BrooklynBoas you cant expect all columbian boas to grow the same. but what you said is an average size rate for female boas.

  • skow grower? I just bought a 2 year old that's 3 feet since she was underfed all her life. Anybody know if that means she'll stay small?

  • @CalienteKarma this snake was underfed too. probably why i feel she's a slow grower. she's about 6ft now.

  • what color is her tummy?

  • i have one of them.altho the people i bought him from said he was a reg red tail bit the color to him was almost orange with peach coloring arond the face lol

  • nice snake how old?

  • right. but you commented me on feeding her on a different schedule im saying it doesnt matter how much i feed her. if she was meant to be a big one then she would of been. powerfeeding does increase growth but you cant make a snake 20ft(for example) if it wasnt meant to be it'll just get fat more then long.

basically powerfeeding works but to an extent. theres other possibilites to look at aswell.

  • well theres no set growth rate just an estimate on how long it will take

  • actually feeding amount is a little overrated. ppl try to powerfeed all the time to increase growth without understanding genetics and food types. food with more nutrients like rabbits and chickens help big to medium snake grow alot. i know from personal experience. 2nd is genetics. if the parents were big then most likely the babies will too. just like us humans. my male boa grows much faster than her. she's bigger than him cuz she's much older. at a year old she was about 3ft my male was 4ft.
