The Ideal Companion: A DVD Guide to Cat Breeds is an indispensable "visual guidebook," not just for prospective cat owners, but for cat lovers in general.

Produced in cooperation with North America's top breeders, this DVD provides insights into the history, temperament, sociability and life span of 20 different breeds of cats. It includes colorful charts that indicate brushing requirements and detail how active and vocal each breed tends to be, and a special section with valuable tips on what to look for when choosing a kitten.

  • ive always had cats and got my first burmese a year and a half ago. I will never have another breed. She fetches, plays hide and seek, comes when its name is called, watches me have a shower, and sleeps with me every night.

  • purebred or not... cats should stay inside and be spoiled like they are meant to be = )

  • Burmese are the best. They're like a dog in a cats body.

  • This series is WAY more informative than the other cat breed guides, like Cat 101. Just letting a dedicated breed expert talk at length about their breed is invaluable and is the next best thing to going to a cat show and chatting up the exhibitors!

  • I´ve think i have watched all the "Ideal Companion:"s now, and they pretty much say the same thing about the cats.

    All cats are great :)

  • My family adopted a retired Burmese cat about a year ago, and she is the best thing ever! We have never had such a loving, entertaining cat! She does get into a little mischief now and again, but curiosity is part of the feline kingdom. ^^!!

  • @lesleyhenriquez I think as burmese are both sleek, short-furred and energetic they do seem to look more muscular than other breeds. But they do love their food. My boy gets a bit of a tummy on him if I give in to his begging for more treats too often.

  • Is it me or is this cat pretty muscular for a housecat?

  • I want one! I've convinced my parents to let me get a cat and I believe this is the right one for me! :3

  • whats up with wanting to be doglike? cats ar cats thats why thy are cool dogs are not better cats should be proud to be cat and not want to be dogs.. geex :3

  • Burmese shed less then common cats.

they do have a single furr. (as in no undercoat).

  • Once Burmese and never another breed!

Playful, charming, lively, never sneaky yet always curious..friendly with other cats, dogs and kids, loves to play fetch and be close to "his" human. Besides that it's simply a very beautiful breed.. Get one and you wont regret it :-)
