Rom 11:29 - context is key. It's talking about God's calling of the nation of Israel, that's irrevocable. Yet are all Israel saved? No. It's not talking about salvation, wrong use of verse. Heb 12:2 - Faith here refers to the Christian religion, not personal belief. Jesus authored it, being its Captain. Finisher/perfector here means rewarder or judge, who hands out the rewards.

@hlpsg Your use of the word "faith" found in Heb. 12:2 is only found in corrupt Greek lexicons and liberal dictionaries. It is not the "Christian religion". Jesus did not start a "religion". Religions are "works-based". Christianity is faith-based. Jesus said the WORK we must do to enter Heaven is BELIEVE. "John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." Salvation cannot be a gift and a reward at the same time.

Eternal life - Wrong premise. the nature of the life is eternal. It is a life flowing from Christ. It does not mean it is given eternally. John 15:6 John 10:28: See John 10:27. Hear, know, follow, give, all present continuous tenses in Greek, not heard, knew, followed, gave. No one can snatch, but you can forsake it yourself. The Father Himself will remove you, who can save from the Father? John 15:2.

@hlpsg Once again, you are totally missing the RELATIONSHIP aspect of the Christian life. We are the "sons of God" in Christ. This can never change. You point to Jn. 10:27-28, but neglect to mention that these verses state that "they shall never perish". Who? Saved people obviously. If I am saved, passed from death unto life (Jn. 3:36), and I 'transgress' and die and go to Hell, I perished and God is a liar. I can try to leave God, but He said, "I will never thee, nor forsake thee." Heb. 13:5

In 1 John, Christ is named that eternal life in the very first chapter.

In many passages-we forget they were lettersothers in a different place read-often passing copies. The authors having not met everyone in all churches-thus the reasons why often it might sound likenthey are trying to teach salvation losing when that letter appeals to others besides thosethey new. On the opposition-did they talk to the devil (realizing they might be debating something they do not believe)

@ngbiblog Heb 13:5. You really need to study verses in context. Here it's talking about not having to worry about money, because God will never forsake us if we abide in Him. Is this verse talking about eternal security? Of course not. Context! Context! Context! Yaaaaaaaay Context!

For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. Mat 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. Do you make him a liar?

@ngbiblog You need to understand the text in context. Who will never perish? Those who hear (present continuous) and follow (present continuous) Jesus's words. These people who continually hear and follow will never perish. This is why Jesus says I "give" them eternal life. "Give" is a present tense, continuous action. Not gave. If your premise is true, then Jesus should've used the word "gave." - past aorist. Christ said those who do not continue abiding in him, he is thrown away. John 15:6.

@ngbiblog The word "faith" used in the sense of the "Christian religion" is found in many places in the NT. Acts 6:7 - "obedient to THE FAITH", Acts 13:8 - "seeking to turn the proconsul away from THE FAITH", Acts 14:22, 27, Acts 16:5, Rom 10:8, 1 Cor 16:13, 2 Cor 13:5, Gal 1:23, Gal 6:10, Eph 4:5, Eph 4:13, etc. etc.
