  • old yumi are made for war.

    Jumi: 20 kg > arrow 20 g + 11 g = 31 g

    Jumi: 30 kg > arrow 30 g + 11 g = 41 g

    because the war-arrow-heads are heavyer.

    Today the arrows are lighter, than you can shoot bows with 12 - 18 kg.

    The arrows is horizontal for shooting to 28 meters. Its better for the kyudo-archery to learn horizontal shooting first.

    Years later you can try shooting up to 60 meters with the same bow.

  • I've been shooting western style bows for about ten years, but they all have a very low draw weight. Does the range improve if the weight is increased or does that only affect the speed of the arrow?
