  • The bit about the people who *want* to learn it, I'd never heard that before. I was always sceptical about Esperanto. I'm a native Dutch and Limburgish dialect speaker, started ESL classes at eight, learned French and German as part of the secondary school curriculum, and am now a Scandinavian Studies major in university (bringing the amount of understandable languages at eight). For me, Esperanto just doesn't seem very necessary. But I think I get the point a little bit better now.
