Merci Retrieval System X Series Animation

The Merci Retrieval System is the leading FDA-cleared device for restoring blood flow in the neurovasculature by removing blood clots in patients experiencing ischemic stroke. More than 10,000 patients have been treated with the Merci system to date, with over 500 centers performing the procedure worldwide.




The Merci Retrieval System is a minimally invasive catheter-based system comprised of three products: the Merci Retriever®, the Merci® Balloon Guide Catheter and the Merci® Microcatheter. The Merci Retrieval procedure employs a widely accepted mode of delivery where the arterial system is accessed through the femoral artery in the groin. The device is then navigated to the brain using standard endovascular techniques

The Merci Retrieval System may be used beyond the three-hour time window during which IV t-PA may be administered. It offers physicians an interventional option for stroke patients that do not respond or are ineligible for IV t-PA.

Hi there Stroke! This is a very nice simulation of the merci retriever system. I have learned a lot. This is as well present in the symposier site, wherein a lot of medical practitioners are contributing and learn from each other.
