Thanks for the video. Really liked it.
My grandpa bought a new 1944 B and also a new 1949 A. The B did not originally have roll o matic like the 49 A had. My grandpa had roll o matic installed on the B. My dad tells me one downside was that the B didn't follow the rows by itself anymore once the roll o matic was added.

Thank you Tubal. I'm restoring my late Dad's 1959 530 and your video's are a great help!

That´s crazy, let´spatent this but with faster cars

Roll-o-matic wasn't designed to give a smoother ride, it was made to keep from having the steering wheel rip your hands off when one tire caught a rock while the other didn't. It basically allowed the front wheels of the tractor to work similar to having a single front wheel or a wide front axle.

I like the video too..Mr tubelcain...I have rollomatic on my 1951 B, and 1955 50..It does make for a nicer front end ride, even on blacktop hitting a rock...PS I also custom fab. a buddy seat, I bought a used one choped it down the middle(not the from though) and widend it....but the custom uphostery cost me $280! ouch.....but love taking the kids for a ride, seat belt and all!

Roll-o-matics was so simple that international could never figure it out only john deere would do some thing about the rough ride you would get fron a standard narrow front end
As someone who's worked in engineering, I've always imagined the Roll-O-Matic was conceived as a way to keep both tires in fuller contact with the ground for more effective steering, ...and that any improvement in ride quality was probably just a happy side-effect. Whatever JD was thinking, I always thought Roll-O-Matic was a clever innovation. Enjoyed your demo video!

Thanks for a very learned comment. Some of the deere brochures referred to it as knee action.

That is one beautiful piece of machine (that still survives). In my neck of the woods (CT), you don't see a lot of those machines running, there just left abandoned and uncared for or used as (broken down) pieces intended to bring charm to [former] farmland turned to bed and breakfast resorts.
