This is a re-cut of lkollar's video of Tetsuya's epic crash, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOGtUMCB0IY

You can read about the incident here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetsuya_Ota

Thanks to lkollar for supplying the initial footage and to Radiohead for being Radiohead and also for writing one of my favorite songs.

  • OMG Brutal!!!

  • Luckily safety measures have been increased the last decade. This can never happen again at least not the response of the marshals there.

Btw I don't think that they will let a race go on in those conditions. you couldn't even see the cars that where driving on the road only the lights.

  • Can't say this is the best marshalling I've ever seen!:|

  • @haveityourwayallday

Yes the One that put out the fire was another driver.

  • is that another driver that put the flames out or are they required to wear helmets and all? and the guy in the deocnd posrche that he almost hit is lucky

  • @camie2cool

What was even worse was the fact it was another driver not the fire marshals that put out the fire and dragged him out. He was in the burning car for 90seconds before that driver got him out...

  • shocking this is bad

  • that is absolutely appalling!!!!

that would be the worst first response track rescue I've seen ever...

Even after they got him out.. They left him there to assist with some other bullshit when that struggle to get up could have paralyzed him if he had and spinal/neck injuries.

good on him for the lawsuit...

  • OMG, how is this possible?? Lucky for him a fellow driver stepped in otherwise he'd be long gone before any help arrives. Glad he survived, tragic enough as it is with that poor rescue effort.
