Internet is a psyop 'force multiplier' in military terms. It amplifies issues by sheer quantity of info. It enables users to strengthen a viewpoint by repetition. It can sway people away from a viewpoint but is more likely to strengthen a point of view already held. This is because people don't like confusion/not knowing so they reinforce the viewpoint they feel/were taught is closest to the truth for neural comfort.
