Composing a song is to write a lyric and mucid note( like DO RA MI etc..).You gotta have learned somewhere in H.S or COLLEGE of Special Talent as I work for the School of ART And ACADEMIC,there are a lot of young kids enjoy playing music intruments i.e Guitars,flute ,drum..

Of course TALENT is the BEST Way to start something for everyone in their living plus if you got GIFT,you will Success in your life.

whether or not they attended a university music program i aint know. all i know is that one aint have 2 have graduated from a singin' or music program 2b a singer or song writer. samouth, john lennon & paul mccartney of the beatles, & elvis never attended any singin' or music program. yet they all were excellent singers AND song writers. mccartney, b4 he became a beatle, even was rejected by a music school.

gifted singin' & song writin' are natural, not learned, talents.

Yes Abso..f......lutely.Sin Sisamouth is the LEGEND of Khmer songs ,NO COMPARESION.

About NEW song writer or song composer ,there are not capable enough,I mean they don't have enough RESEARCH for their own idea plus they might just want to make MONEY.Anyway,the OLD KHMER Song Composer like HAS SALORN ,VOY HO or POV SIPHO i believed that they had gone to school of Music or at least they attended some Universities abroad,don't you agree?

i see i see. yeah yeah it's not easy 2 compose music. so this makes one appreciate samouth more still.

but we shoudnt ridicule present singers by comparin' them 2 samouth. samouth so far is the cambodian ultimate genius. thus it aint appropriate 2 compare any1 2 him.

however if you criticize present singers 4 mostly copyin' thai music, that's a legitimate criticism. cambodians singers & song writers must compose their own music 4 the most part, 99.99% at least.

Yes I sure agreed with you about Preap Sovath.He is not as GOOD as Sin Sisamouth,it just happened to be in time for new young kids,especially in CAMBODIA ,who watched Thai music too much and the people who makes the new era of Khmer songs mostly copies from Thai,that is why He is so popular.I don't mean to talk down about the NEW songs either as it is not EASY to compose the music at all don't you think?

i picked on preab sovath bcoz: 1) some compare him 2 samouth, he's not anywhere close 2 samouth, & 2) he's elevated more than he deserves, there are present male singers who're better than him.

as oldy singers are fadin' away or gone, there must be new ones. sure, even if one aint like any of the new ones, there must be the new ones.

i aint dislike every present singer. i like sous song veacha, meas sok sophea, & some others. sous song veacha is better than preab sovath.
