My wife and I were trolling and got in the middle of one of these acrobatic free for alls a few weeks ago. We stopped to take pictures- forgot about our 'hochies' since we were in about 3000 ft of water. After about a minute...Bam! Both poles had Manta hook ups! 30+ lbs- released them, of course. But broke one pole in the process. Yet another East Cape experience! Steve
@Yoga1978 ray saw the dolphins do it so he copied and created a new trend , #LOL i dont think any one know not even marine scientists my gues is maybe insects or hunting tactic to attract or scare prey into an manoeuvre for ambush heck it even could be evasive measure from predators like speed boat propellers or something ...interesting in video is they belly flop instead of dive maybe the water ripples are a matting ritual !
