@21qpalzm12 Old post I know, but there is a really simple reason why he's not as fast as some others. He's shredding in a much more difficult way then yngwie who anybody can do, which is basically 3 to 4 notes per string. Eric shreds on the penatonic scale using mostly two notes per spring. That's why his shredding sounds different...plus it's much more tireing on the fingers then cruising thru chromatic harmonic minor scales like Yngwie. After 11 years of me playing, Eric superior.

@Chromatype Old comment I know, but I disagree. Also this guy is so good eh improves with chords. I mean the chords he uses are uncanny. He usually hybrid picks them as well. True he solo's mostly in the pentatonic, but it's the way he does it. The way he shreds is amazing because it's mostly two notes per spring which is incredible tiring on the finger. I could run chromatic scaled with 3 to 4 notes per string all day at Malmsteen like speeds. his two note per spring is awesome.
