House Chamber, Washington, D.C. July 28, 2009. Mr. Speaker: In order to support the Democrats healthcare plan, we are asked to accept three arguments that are fundamentally absurd: First, that the same government that pioneered $400 hammers and $600 toilet seats is somehow going to control healthcare costs; Second, that the same government that runs FEMA is going to make our health care system more efficient and responsive; Third, that the same government that runs the IRS is going to make our healthcare more compassionate and understanding.
you people suck at runnin' a gov't.. you're traitors and you can expect to be dealt with..

YES! A voice of sanity. Question: Why do the Democrats insist on pretending the Republicans are not offering health care solutions? There's one right there. It's not perfect but it's a darn sight better than the monstrosity that just passed. No, apparently some politicians feel that it's not really a "solution" unless it came from the federal government. Ignoramuses!

As I told you already someone else is already paying for it, some else is already going to pay for you emergency room treatments, by your own logic you better get jumping off that bridge :D

Death is a natural occurrence. If I die because of the risks that I take, then it is my fault. Knowing this should give me an incentive to take less risks with my health and make wiser decisions. If I know that I can do whatever I want like jump off of bridges or swim in shark infested waters because someone else is paying for it, than I will
(Economic Principle #4 people respond to incentives) I dare you to try me again because I have Milton Friedman and Ronald Reagan behind me on this one.

The system being implemented allows the choice between private and public health care providers, so no freedom is lost. Also the uninsured already cost us tax dollars in emergency room visits which must provide life saving treatment free of charge, so we are paying for it anyways. Also you will need healthcare, you will get sick or injured and you will inevitable die, everyone will guaranteed.

Government's involvement in healthcare will create an artificial demand, raising prices even more than it already has. The cost to provide healthcare to everyone is based on prices created by the private market. It's a big fantasy made by people who don't understand simple economic principles.

I don't care if the benefits are tenfold (which is the case when government gets involved in a private market), the problem with socialized healthcare is that it takes away my freedom to choose. Why would I want to pay for a service that I do not want or need. How dare they assume that all of the uninsured in this country are so because they can't afford it. It is our choice as consumers and if we don't vote with our dollar, it leaves room for innovation.

actually waiting times in the USA are longer then the average first world country. As for the poor insures job, perhaps we can find better employment for them then living off of other people suffering and death.

You think socialist countries have better health care? How would you like to wait 8+ months for an MRI when here it takes a fraction of that time? Or months to see a specialist because the government is fumbling? Im not opposed to the idea of having better health care and affordable care for ALL people, but government ran is kind of silly. Not to mention thousands of job losses for insurance companies. I think there's a better reform possible than government uni care.

Why is it the US government is so incompetent? Most other first world countries got socialize medicine with lower costs and better care than the USA. I think part of the problem is fuckwads like this guy who IS the government yet hates it and thinks it fails, news flash: your in the position to make it work if you think it not working. Of course it failing, your making it fail because you don't want to make it work!
