This is the first in a series of beat creation tutorials using Presonus' Studio One. The first series will show you how to create a prodigy style track. This is part 1 of the drums section. Using factory samples and loops to create a basic beat with parallel compression, a little EQ and some Distortion. This is part 1 of 2.

If you've got questions about this, or other tutorials, just post a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

  • I think FL 10 Is way better

  • @ivanawsome94 Good for you. I hope you enjoy using FL 10, just as much as I enjoy using Studio One Pro!

  • Dont bother with the rest of the series if they also have not sound

  • @poojkhgf These all have sound, but just not me talking you through what you can see happening on the screen ;-)

  • @Motokonl Yes Narration is what I meant - strange so many guys using great sound software but they dont want to use a microphone

  • @poojkhgf For stuff that simple to follow on screen, I found it to be pointless to tell you what you are seeing. More complex subjects have narration, although certainly not the best as all of it is recorded in one take.

  • @freeweedable If its for kids why aren't you using it?I guess you will never be one of the cool kids who use fl, and you talk big for someone who makes no music!

  • I need help how do u import instruments into studieo one (presonus)

  • @GrouEEf Well I don't know why we are arguing, everyone has different tastes! Dose not really matter what program you use just what you end up making.

  • @ivanawsome94 after one year you can´t judge a shit, music production is something that you learn over the years and at one point you figure out specific workflows, f.i. i resample quite a lot nowadays while i was a straight midi guy about 3 years ago.

and while you have never used SO2 you don´t know what exactly makes it so great. ofc fl studio is step sequencer program which makes for easy programming of drum patterns.

that is all you see. working with audio and mixing is way better in SO2.

  • @GrouEEf Actually I know what im taking about, Iv been using fl 10, cubase 5 for almost a year now and can compare what i see here, all im saying is FL 10 is much better for me to use. Its just easier for me to work with when making my music!

  • @ivanawsome94 "better"? the SO2 audio engine is way better then FL studio´s. the workflow comes down to personal preference, fruity loops is more or less made for midi clickers and beginners while SO2 is dedicated to former cubase users and people that seek for more professional plugins with better audio quality.

i used them both, i would always recommend SO as the more professional approach to anyone.

tbh you sound like you got no clue what you are talking about.

    but nevermind ;)
