My best effort yet on the Bach Aria from Goldberg Variations - started learning this one month ago. Recorded July 31, 2011. Modesto, California, USA. I am hoping to get some feedback on my piano playing - so I can learn. I'm mostly self taught on piano. I was rejected from piano lessons as a child (totally my fault) and I'm trying to learn as an adult, but am afraid of piano teachers - because they might toss me out of lessons again - since I'm not very orthodox in my practicing - no different than when I was a child (which led to being fired as a piano student). Since being kicked out of piano lessons, I took up violin and became a general surgeon. I work with my wife, Dr. Tammy Wu, Plastic Surgeon. Together we have Surgical Artistry - a practice focused on Plastic Surgery and Acupuncture.
Any feedback you can offer me would help me improve - I am learning how to play piano on YouTube! Thank you. I do love playing the piano very much!

You are an extraordinarily gifted man. As someone (myself), who started late with piano (age 12) after studying violin, with only a couple of piano lessons,... I have been studying and practicing,(usually 4-5 hrs a day) for about 46 years. You are well advanced over my level! And it seems, musical talent runs in your family! Thanks for not giving up when your teacher fired You!

Beautiful interpretation!! Are you by any chance influenced by Glenn Gould's playing?
Also, if I may ask: do you play by ear? This was the reason I gave up traditional lessons at the age of 12. It was just easier for me to learn my lessons this way but my piano teacher eventually 'fired me' as a result :-)
