I captured this video near Cedar Hill, TX which is Northeast of Lubbock on the evening of April 29, 2009. I witnessed a total of 5 tornadoes that day, 4 of which are captured in this video, 2 of them simultaneously. The first 2 tornadoes were not fully condensed (At the end of this video) and the third tornado was roping out and I did not capture it on video.

The fourth and fifth tornadoes occurred simultaneously, the fourth tornado starting as a big cone and crossing the road within 200 yards from the back of our van. This is extreme footage, with me taking a chance by passing just in front of a violent cone tornado.

I was with David Drummond of Dryline Media. You can access his site at http://www.daviddrummond.com

I am a storm chaser based in Norman, OK but originally from Lansing, MI. You can visit my website at http://www.michiganstormchaser.com for more information about me and full accounts from my past storm chases including video and pictures.

  • im surprised you guys got a clear shot of it. Usually the Lubbock dust impedes it

  • were there two torndos? It kind of looked like it

  • Snap that tornado looks really scary and small.

  • that tornado was tiny but look damn right super strong :O!

  • Nice video guys! Severe weather is awesome! I live in Pearland, Tx., and we get severe wx all of the time!

  • wow awesome footage!

  • tamela mann and david mann lives in cedar hill

  • My family settled in this community THIS Cedar Hill in 1898. Most have moved away now. But, I grew up there.I thought this video was amazing. You actually have footage of the old homes of some relatives at about 4 1/2 minutes into the video. We lived 1 mile east of Cedar Hill. I assume you cut off your video close to where my home was because you said there is a "curve up ahead" which was about 1/2 mile from my house. We spent lots of nights in the "cellar" hiding from tornadoes when I was a child

  • I live in Cedar hill in Dallas you scared me for a second I was like "I slept through a tornadoe that huge! I didn't hear any sirens!"

  • Incredible footage!! Wow! That was close!! That was Reed ahead at 1:35 right? 5 Stars!!
