International Air Travel: a Deutschlisch Exposition

Since I've been travelling, I've noticed a couple of things. I thought I'd share them -- Miss V-style! Enjoy this journey into the world of observational vocab.

Gibt es Leute, die das Wort "eilends" benutzen? Ich frage mich warum, kurz, knackig und trotzdem auf gehobenem Sprachstandard!

Sorry, this is not a comment on this video as yet, since i havent seen it as yet lol. I have been here in New Zealand for 16 months and found that people generally tend to taking themselves far far too seriously. The exception is a friend of mine in far far far away Dunedin...im only at Christchurch but it does seem sometimes that its another planet ...who shared the 'new zealand' accent with me...thankyou! its so true,keep the sillyness coming..from an ancient englishman.

Chances are you'll NEVER see a german airport with German signs for check-in/gate/terminal/etc

Ankunft und Abflug (Arrivals / Departures) being the exception to that rule. Anyway, nice video, "Denglish" is becoming waaay to common. Especially 'bad' Denglish like "handy" XD

the translation for "way out ( in a hurry)" is correct!

I'm a german and I'm a naitve speaker....we use the word "eilends"

for comfort, germans would say Komfort :D (but we don't speak the "t" at the end, frenchstyle.)

Some things are strangely translated, you should look for a better dictionnary... Most of the mistakes have already been mentioned in the comments below, but one is missing: You would definitely not say "Ausgang (eilends)" for "way out (in a hurry)". I bet I've never use the word "eilends" before... the correct expression is Notausgang.

By the way, "Beinfreiheit" is correct and one of my favourite German words, I find it funny to use "freedom" when you are speaking about legs ;D

Ah, Deutschlish FTW.

I love it when, in the name of international understanding, Germans try their hand at Denglish and get it horribly wrong. Ever been to a "Back-Factory"?
