He was tall, had a barrel-chest and his lungs were somewhat oversized as well as his Heart. He had not only a physical advantage but a mental advantage. He had the most incredible determination and willpower of any Professional Cyclist of all time. It is no wonder he won over 500 Professional races

great film of a true legend,a man of pure cycling talent with dare i say with proper bikes none of this plastic, carbon aerodynamic pimp my bike shit that we see today

Huge gears, massive talent, incredible legacy. Merckx: Lead from the front and grind 'em down. Proper old school hardman.

@death2pc Sarcasm: The lowest form of wit.

You and a few others are obviously incapable of understanding SARCASM. How sad.
On a serious note it's nice to know you know of all the more admire Merckx. Few today do. Did you ever see Merckx compete? Or my other favorite, Jacques Anquetil, Gimondi, Van Impe, Maertens, Saronni, Raas amongst various old, outdated has beens on their heavy, flexible friction shifter non uber carbon traditional geometry rust bucket steel bikes? I can assure you, they were something to witness.

@death2pc slow are you serious you are the biggest idiot on here eddy is the greatist of all time. there is nothing they could do against his skills he was the best and will always be recognized the best period.

Eddy, first and foremost had an insatiable will to win but he also had a physical advantage as well and that was his barrel chest. His lungs and heart were somewhat larger than his competitors and his anerobic oxygen level was simply higher than his competitors. He won some 500+ pro races and no one is even close
the escape at 0:50 is enormous!!!
