Actually, I read all the books and own some manga and let me tell you, the movie is nothing like the book. Examples:
Mr. Creepsley is thin with a large (only one) scar running from the side of his eye to his cheek(lower side near his mouth)
There was no monkey girl and Daren's girlfriend was a normal girl of African descent.
Among other things, so I would advise you to read the books or maga if you would like, but not the movie, it's way off.

I thought the movie would be great . . . . I was wrong. It would have done better as an anime. I also hated who they picked for the actors like doese anyone feel that Darren and Steve should be younger.
