Royal Canadian Air Force Captain Terry Hunter plays bagpipe in Ikotos, Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan. He visited this place as a part of his duty of Military Observer in United Nations Mission in Sudan.
I agree. My pipes were in the vehicle all day in the 45-50 C temps and they just did not want to sound proper. This was a spontaneous start up to get some air going through them to wet the chanter, etc and notice I cut out early. It was a quick start up as the locals never heard pipes played before (and probably never want to hear them again). The pipes did tune better for the second set after the dust was blown out of the drones. Of course, the out of tune video would be posted, eh?
Pipes are very finicky to weather temps and moisture.
