No Water or Pistons - Mob Spawner (Minecraft 1.1)

I've decided to tear down my piston mob spawner due to the redstone glitch, and build a waterless and pistonless mob spawner trap. Here it is.

what mod spawner is best? with the water and pistons? or without water-pistons?

@guillaumejs2403 depends if you want endermen or spiders, and if you have resources(redstone) or not

@monkeyfarm i cant attack their foots though... do you have a different way to attack them without them attacking you in such a case?

@jonathanperron r u on a server? they fixed this issue in 1.2, so when your server updates you can hit their feet in an xp farm

Everything that i make (except cave spider xp farm) Doesn't work....

I did everything as u did... but there is nothing spawning...

you can use veins to slow down the mobs :)

@monkeyfarm I think the easiest way to fix it, would be to change the signs to fech gates.

i just made one of these and the mobs wont go down levels they just stand still any way to fix this?
