  • @favlodog Yes I totally agree...What a gorgeous head this dog has, a good front and gleaming coat.....BUT totally spoilt by that sloping backend...Such a shame the GSD is becoming ruined. For what reason is that sloping backend required??

  • Absolutely gorgeous but still the back is too sloped for his long term health. When will this not be accepted in the show ring and let a german shepherd win with a strong straight back?

  • A healthy dog is a happy dog. Would you rather have a beautiful but sick dog or an ugly but healthy and happy dog? I would go for the ugly dog.

  • Awww I love how the Samoyed jumped up at the lady when the judge pointed at them aww so cute xx

  • @WOZATKINS Better to have a healthy dog than an unhealthy dog with a high show quality :)

  • @FattyDudley Yes I totally agree with you FD, they must cause some long term health probs, and I'm sure if the GSD people tried to stand their dogs four square like show dogs, their top line would then look peculiar...humped or arched....I think the way they are stood is totally unatural to the dog...Shame :(

  • @WOZATKINS Sloping backs create health problems.

  • Working line German Shepherds are better in 1903 the top line of a shepherd was the same as the Dutch Herder conformation showing is killing dogs. I have both working and show dogs non of my show line dogs have sloping backs but the difference in temperament and drive is immense the true GSD is a working line dog the show line is a Frankenstien and if I could sue the KC for trading standards I would the German Shepherd is a working dog and the kennel club do not represent dogs or their interests

  • Horrid. Can't believe people would breed dogs with such horrible ski-slope backs and painful looking gaits for something as stupid as a trophy and bragging rights. Really, the only reason the GSD has been given the severely sloped back is for FASHION! If that doesn't say something about the confirmation world, I don't know what does.

Working dogs forever-healthy dogs with a purpose. None of this beauty contest garbage.

  • very nice example of a gsd very powerfull strong hind legs and gait correct shape.well deserved placing wouldnt have been placed if he was unhealthy or correct to type.irratates me when people coment who know nothing about gsd's.Keep up the good work very nice zamp son :-)

  • @favlodog you're completely right.
