  • The key to all this is "distraction to the face". By making monkey faces, sticking your tongue out, singing a silly song, or pretending to kiss the would be assailant, you will get the required edge and can take these fuckers down. You can take them down to Chinatown.

  • Ahh yes the classic Monky face takedown used in all the best dojo's :)

  • Drunken; at 0:08-0:10 0:12-0:15(even in midair) 0:16-0:19 while there is a chance that the guys knife could slip through and slash you, or he could stab you in the back etc. the defender (guy without knife) is in excellent position to break the attackers elbow, or shoulder with this arm positioning. Furthermore, the knife isnt 'loose' id rather have some control than none... so given the fact that a fight involving a knife is already bad... I wouldnt overly worry about this situation.

  • You would have to go to lessons for this, you can't just watch a video and copy it, the strikes and submissions are too hard to perform under stress

  • I am an instructor in Krav Maga and I am constantly trying to find new "reality based systems" and training in them to widen my repertoire and find the most effective techniques to teach my students. I have trained in KFM, Bartitsu and Kapap, and something that I have noticed is that there is a lot of overlap between these systems. In other words, a lot of the techniques are the same. However there are of course still differences, and I would recommend training in as many systems as possible.

  • Also who here if they wanted to take someone out would underestimate there prey by attacking form the front? Its a casual walk up ...blade to the liver take wallet walk out of there. So Martial art schools need to spend equal amount of time not just on technique but of awareness and how not to be there. How not to look like a target. This is dancing like watching a med training vid compared to battlefield roadside medical emergency care

  • In a pub or club or when your coming out of a shop your not in a suit ready for an assailant this is bull shit the only way to live like this is to live it that means you are constantly living on red alert (zanshin) or you practice weekly so it is a reflex motion. But for the average joe a £ 2.00 balde from Asda makes him history...but fortunatly the chances of that happening are rare. If some cunt wants your wallet give it to them. This is a belief system

  • Does anyone know of anywhere we can learn Goshinkwai in the Southwest of England?

  • @emanresu81 yes, but they didnt just do this they did others as well, im sure they did jeet kune do and i know today they do krav maga

  • @laubeatz if you cant run though and then this is your only option

  • This is the first Goshinkwai video that had techniques that made even a little sense. All the rest are at best wild and uncontrolled with a lot of wasted motion. THese are n ot magical or super techniques but they are the closest thing I've seen yet from Goshinkwai that appear somewhat effective

  • Wasn't this the British S.A.S technique?

  • nice video if ur defending against people who dont know how to attack with a knife LOL.. with those who have had hand to hand combat with knives, ud best just avoid the situation by running like hell
