Ooops! I see "mikie" is 49 years old and therefore had to be 7 years old when he claims he was "Jimi's limo driver". (Another internet nutcase) My mistake!

@mcleanartists This guy might have been Jimi's limo driver. However the details of the bust are quite clear and Jimi was most-definitely set-up. If you read the bios Jimi was warned of a bust on the plane by one of his managers. I don't think there were any "foxes" coming along that needed Jimi to stupidly put a vile of heroin right on top of his clothes that Customs would see upon opening his suitcase. Jimi might have snorted some heroin on occassion but wasn't any addict or user

The heroin bust is highly suspicious because it is unlikely Jimi would have left a vile of heroin right on top of his clothes in his bag. This bust came shortly after a major entry in Jimi's FBI file associating him with radicals like Abbie Hoffman and the Black Panthers who were high on FBI's COINTELPRO list. The setting-up of a targeted individual with such dirty tricks was right in line with FBI's own description of that program. It then gets more sinister when you realize Jeffery was MI-6.

The Toronto drug bust came right at a time when Jimi was starting to realize his relationship with his manager Michael Jeffery wasn't in his interest and Jeffery was ripping him off blind and changing his musical direction. I believe Jimi had a meeting with the group and Chas Chandler earlier that year that resolved Chas would be the manager. Nothing happened. Jimi then went to both his and Jeffery's lawyer, Steingarten, with Sharon Lawrence in order to announce his intention to sever Jeffery.

It's a tribute to his professionalism and ability to cope with pressure that he can perform so effectively, hours after being busted at airport for heroin and hashish (later found not guilty). His spring '69 tour was his last with JHE, and he was ready to change his ensemble. He was already working in studio with other artists and poised to rise to the next level: Owning his studio, owning his cultural productions, and owning himself. Very good of you to upload this fresh material!
