Hi Ed,
I think you didn't put enough stress on posting other people's stuff. It leverages your authority (i.e. trustworthiness) on the bookmarking site if you bookmark other people (including yourself, of course).
I make it a habit to post somebody else, at least, once a week.

As long as you write with people in mind, it will never be a problem. When you write to manipulate search engines, then prepare to suffer the consequence.
