@VirusofLife182 I'd have to agree from what i've heard, there macho idiots all dreesed up with noplace or really no one to fight with, so they went to pick on the college kids. I commend them that Pittsburgh wasn't trashed but alot of what I saw and was told about was just macho, hero cops getting there rocks off by pushing around college kids, not a fan of the popo what-so-ever anymore!

As for you, OrientOranges, at least bloody inform yourself on the location of Pitt's campus and the time of the assembly in relations to the summit before you go and make wild claims that the peaceful assembly at Pitt was in any way a threat to world leaders.

Also, this took place after the convention was over. Granted, the protestors needed a license to be able to legally assemble on the Union's lawn. They were technically in the right to disperse the protestors; however, the tear gas and rubber pellets were unnecessary, and the fact that they prevented those at the assembly from leaving and spraying mace up INTO...

Oakland (Pitt's campus, not to be confused with the California town of the same name) is far from the Convention Center to begin with, separated from the area by the Hill District. Furthermore, I talked to several people that were there, and they consistently told me that the police surrounded them, pushed them around, and basically did everything they could do in their power to PREVENT people from leaving. The use of force was totally unnecessary, however they DID issue a dispersal order. The people were warned to leave the area or force would be taken, they did not leave and force was taken - it shouldn't have been a surprise.
