Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Bella Centre in Copenhagen to disrupt the talks over what they see as the brokering of an unfair deal for developing nations. Police were out in force and took a zero-tolerance policy, arresting nearly 100 people and using tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The alternative people's forum took place as planned but further away from the Bella Centre than hoped. According to protesters on the ground 200 delegates from inside the conference attempted to walk-out to join the protest but police refused and held them at the centre.
