We got 2 Mokais on August 1, 2008. They are the redesigned hull. This was taken on a 3 hour trip on the Saluda River going from the Pelzer dam to the Piedmont dam. I tried to get some close ups of the way the water flows around the boat. In the view of the nozzle you can see a little water escaping from the front of the nozzle when the nozzle is turned to steer the Mokai.
I got the Mokais to use as river boats and the are working very well. This year the Saluda is running at record low levels which leaves a lot of rocks exposed. Since the Mokai is plastic and has no prop. it can bounce off rocks, jump tree trunks and keep going.

  • I love that you say it's at "full speed" but have no idea what the speed is. It doesn't look very fast.

  • Specifications for the Mokai are available on the Mokai web site. I posted my videos because I couldn't find anything similar when I was doing my research before purchasing ours.

  • slow!!

  • I haven't measured the speed but we've only encountered one rapids that we couldn't go up. It drops about 18-24"over about 2 or 3 feet. For what we use them for they are the best boat that I've found.

  • @ericarmstrong1 --- If something is at fullspeed then it doesn't need to be fast nor does the actual speed need to be stated. The vessel he/she is talking about is running at it's full potential in this clip thus being at it's "fullspeed". Try stop being a smart ass and let peopel enjoy Youtube without crap comments ?
