As the clocks will soon be going back and the nights are longer, Thames Valley Police is encouraging residents to turn their lights on and protect their properties from burglars.

During the winter months houses left in darkness in a street where all the other houses have lights on are much more likely to be targeted by criminals.

If you would like any further home security advice or are unsure whether your locks are up to standard and would like a security survey, please contact your Crime Reduction Advisor on 0845 8 505 505.
