The An-225 Mriya (NATO reporting name: Cossack) is a strategic airlift transport aircraft which was built by the Antonov Design Bureau, and is the largest flying airplane ever built. The design, built to transport the Buran orbiter, was an enlargement of the successful An-124 Ruslan. Mriya (Мрія) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian. Today only one An-225 is in service.

  • Oleg Antonov was Russian and born in Moscow suburbs in 1906.It wasn't Until 1954 that Khruschev who was part Ukrainian declared that Crimea as well as East sect, was part of Ukraine. It is known as the Crimea Transfer and in 1991 Dec,25 Yeltsin didnt put up much of a fight cause he knew if Russia would take back the Crimea he would be held accountable for Chernobyl as well so he made Ukraine it,Antonov and Motor sich, recently 50% of company,is now owned by UAC in Russia. Not a good point ANT is Rus

  • @monkeyman1140 I cant even imagine that...

  • I've seen this plane in person, its absolutely gigantic. The C-5 Galaxy seems small in comparison.

  • Good point about not being Russian.
