A news clip from the June 1985 "tornado" that swept through Athens, PA from WDAU, now WYOU. The sound is out in the first few seconds. It was later found that straight line winds caused the damage and not a tornado. Debbie Dunleavy, Gary Essex and Beth Powers report.

I live in Athens and even though I wasnt even alive yet when this hit, there are still places you can go and find trees that were blown down and find the path that it took thru the woods

This was not the act of straight lined winds! Sorry- All of the homes would of been destroyed- Not just one with next door being untouched- The most likely reason why the tornado was not recorded for some odd reason was because it was a small event- Not even an f1

athens isn't even in the same state as binghamton. it only takes 45 minutes to get there, sure, but you can't just be like,
" i'm going to athens to get some milk, be right back."
lol

Athens is part of Binghamton's local region. I wonder how come there is no data available when I search for the tornado in 1992 that hit Scranton.
