Fencing Foil - USFA Reg. Youth Circ. - Y10 Final - Val Italo

Y10 USFA Southeast Regional Youth Circuit held at Birmingham Fencing Club, Birmingham, AL. Val Italo (at right), age 10, ranked #8 in Georgia pre-teen foil, versus 11 Year old Tracy Knight, ranked #6 in this best 2 of 3 bout final. Both fencers are from Atlanta Club Northeast.

Tracy is extremely tall for 11. Val attacked gamely and tried to duck down under her foil, but the height and reach advantage proved to be too much to overcome. Tracy won 5-2, 5-1 for the gold. Val placed second and got the silver.
