Puja and Kathak Basics by Gargi Bagchi, director of Asavari School at Westchester, New York... Gargi is a kathak disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj of Lucknow Gharana. She is featuring Maharaj ji's two compositions named 'Puja' and a shorter version of 'Kathak Basics' choreographed by Gargi herself.

  • its good to watch ur position, footwork and action... loud footwork is a key thing of kathak... not all can do it... my footwork is very loud just like yours...

  • i am learning Kathak for a while now and i know how important the loudness of the footwork is and i enjoyed this composition and your footwork variations... i hope that you will post more educational videos like this in the near future so that Kathak students like us will benefit from it... thanks for this post...
