one way to develop continuity and themes in solos is to practice one thing over and over again ... say triplets ... RLFoot ... RLF .... after you can play them evenly , then you can distribute them around the kit and make phrases and come up with themes .... try not to stray away from the RLF triplet pattern ...the only thing that changes is how you distribute it on the kit and volume ...
Yes, I agree with you. Too many solos are just all over the place at breakneck speed - this one is very well put together & as you say, she phrases in a musical way.
