A general overview of the process in which a block of steel is transformed into a knife by literally reconfiguring the molecular and crystalline structure of the once rigid metal.

  • @dwildkat Its steel you can use any type of metal container a small oil drum what looks to be in the video, a bucket even a stockpot they are strong and easy to find .

  • Please can you tell me what material the oil quenching bucket is made of, I need that info for my final year project. I'd appreciate a reply as soon as possible. thank you

  • The end product did not look close to finished...but great vid none the less.

  • The video is nicely done, but the metallurgy is mostly wrong....

  • @andromedarr don't be ignorant, the swastika is a demonized symbols by the enemies of the humanity, the jews.

  • thanks for the informative presentation

  • WTF?? DId anyone else see a swastika when the picture of the melting atoms has been shown?

  • Hello,

I like the production value and the workshop, but some of your metallurgy is incorrect.

Steel has no molecules..it is only varieties of crystalline structures.

Please review the terms again and see what occurs when you heat a martensitic structure. I suggest John Verhoeven's book on "Metallurgy for the non-metallurgist"

It would have been good to see the "walking shadow" of the exothermic reaction which occurs when steel cools from austenite to pearlite.
