I just said what I said from personal experience. During the Toronto G20 summit, I was working as a security officer 16 hour days, and I lived an hour away. I nodded off here and there, but NEVER like that...and I would drink at work sometimes...shhh lol.

But when I'm using opiates, especially heroin, I experience that exact effect. Just falling completely asleep repeatedly, even if you're actively trying to stay awake. I fell asleep buying a muffin in the middle of he transaction.

Exhaustion does. Many people in Japan sleep on trains when heading home after work, since they have to endure rush-hour in the morning and a hard day at work. This guy probably had to go for a few drinks with his fellow workmen and bosses to top it off.
