Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow Christopher C. Horner comments on Al Gore's global warming testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on January 28, 2009.
The bigger issue is the reduction of our dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels in general (which are wildly destructive and expensive to mine and drill for). Why rev your engine and send another ten cents over seas? Creating a "green" infrastructure may be costly, but it will creates jobs, manufacturing and a new high-tech industry in THIS country. Why so smug about bringing jobs to AMERICANS and actually keeping our money here rather than sending it to OPAC?
Forget Al Gore. He was just a celebrity on this issue, not the catch all. everyone, on both sides of the argument, knows this. but Glenn and Chris can't get over him.
We need to face the literature and talk with people that are doing the studies ... not Lawyers like Chris Horner
I dont know where your getting your data mate but for the last ten years the info my friends in the climatology side of this business work off comes from EU space agency and nasa, Nobody's saying we should throw money at Al Gore either whatever you political motivations or personal against that guy may be, I bought Australian solar panels and australian water tanks for my home, that've put money back in my pocket over their lifetimes, we gotta be critical when it come's to this issue.
No dude most people were straight on the issue even back then though this is making me feel old. Petrochemical companies like their billions of dollars and world power influence and did a fine job of paying people off to seed doubt about the issue, One of my good freinds here in australia a former air force engineer redesigned a car to do 1600km on one tank and he cant get a patent for the engine, becuase the patent office wont have a bar of that, there biggest contibuter... yup oil companies.
i dont "Believe" in science, belief implies trust in ideas in light of a total lack of evidence I am a scientist and have followed the climatologist claims on this problem since the early eighties, and by the way humans didnt evolve in cities so how can i act like a traditional one, i'll take a leaf out of your book in my rebuke, pull your head out of your ass, and face up to a much harder life to come whether you like it or not.
dude you are just a sheep. You know it. Don't believe science entirely because those things can be manipulated. I know that it's been much colder lately. Use your own brain. You are human, act like it.
Dude I dont enough characters for that one, ancient volcanisim was a good one though look up the siberian super volcano incident a few million years back or the asteriod that wiped out the dinosaurs also landed right ontop of massive coal and oil deposites setting off a global catastophy of climate change. The ten past years havent been cooling the've been the hottest on record since records began, and global cooling was only suggested becuase of all the sulfates we were pumping into the air.
What are those heaps of things that have caused global warming in the past? What's caused global cooling for the last 10 yrs. Tough questions aren't they...no answers are there! But that's ok...let's blame mankind so governments can raise taxes and manipulate us. When I was in college in the '70s the professors were predicting global cooling and finally it's starting to cool.................
Oh you got me there guess my argument's totally shot... oh wait polar bears didnt exist when there no polar ice caps and that is called evolution, Sarcasam aside there been a whole heap of things that have caused global warming in the past (at slower rates) problem is no fragile civilizations were about to be crushed by it therefore no problem Your right too polar bears didnt have Suv's, how is earth responding to the sudden advent of tech on the planet that has appeared geologically over night
