Climate change and sustainability of the global human enterprise are two of the most critical issues of the 21st Century. If we are to tackle these problems effectively, we need to make prudent, evidence-based choices about energy. This is the story told by this short animated video. For more information and to continue to the discussion, visit the websites:

The short video was produced in collaboration with Ron Furner and his team at Fury Films, http://furyfilms.com.au

  • @TaviYamato Pretty easy to find actually. The mineral stuff is well known in plenty of locations. Depleted uranium to run IFR is sitting around on the surface doing nothing in huge amounts.

  • nuclear is not sustainable because uranium is hard to find idiotas puta grande moreons

  • @Dukster98 Hey Dukster, thanks very much. You are not the first to say so. It takes money, and we don't have it! Contrary to our critics say-so, we are not industry funded, it was made with prize-money. We are arranging a formal launch here in Adelaide in the next couple of months. I hope we can garner the right attention that might enable that to happen.

  • You need to turn this into an advertisement and put it on Australian TV. I am serious, this is the best information I have received about sustainable energy choices in my whole life!

  • It's hard to have a real argument about nuclear energy because everything has to be so quick in the media system that at some point somebody will shout "Nuclear Bomb!" and then you can't say anything in response, fear and emotion prevail.

  • @bogusnachos

"What is the half life of these toxins? Are they water soluble? Could it be wind turbine waste is worse the nuclear waste? Anyone know?"

    - There are great search engines out there - look it up bogus. Btw, radioactive isotopes are not used in wind turbines - but true to your name, bogus, I'll bet you already knew that

"Could it be wind turbine waste is worse the nuclear waste? Anyone know?"

    - No it couldn't be. But I'll bet you already knew that too.

  • @Myliberationbaby

I'll agree with your position. Nuclear has often promised a totally closed cycle. I haven't seen it yet, but maybe the next generation can achieve it . There is already a great fusion generator 93 million miles away that has been powering our wold since the beginning of life on this planet. From a biological view it is the reason we are here. It CAN supply more power than we need. Using it over all other sources seems like the most intelligent way to get to your position

  • @BeondaPale

I think sustainable energy and societal change are separable issues but for what it's worth I will repeat my preferred position: I want to see us develop into a sustainable modern society, one in which we use (and reuse) our resources intelligently.

  • @BeondaPale

The climate debate is not about “CHANGING the nature of the industrial society” it's about substantially reducing our CO2 emissions. That is, attempting to change the nature of industrial society might lead to a lowering of our CO2 emissions or it might not. It might just lead to you getting marginalised and the idea of CO2 reduction put into the too hard basket.

However, replacing fossil fuels with emission free energy can only lead to reduced CO2 emissions, societal change or no

  • @Myliberationbaby

“Isn't The climate debate about CHANGING the nature of the industrial society toward a sustainable model?”

    "No, it isn't!"

The name of this video is "Sustainable Energy Choices for the 21st Century " Are you now admitting that this title is misleading?

Just as a woman can not be more or less pregnant, things can not be more or less sustainable. Something can either be sustained or it can't be.

    "Google: tcase4 energy"

I did - read my reply
