  • I fought the SM57, but lost. The only trouble you might have is syncing the audio to the cam. Not much of a challenge, really. In recording forums you can find amp modelers, direct to box, but the SM57 usually takes the cake. Everyone will tell you that.

Bout the comparison. I did this one at home. I love the Recto. Only Mesa does that sound. I love the ADA. It's the most versatile $400 distortion pedal around. But it's not a power amp. (apples-oranges)

What poweramp did you use with it?

  • @Eventual420 I fed it through the power section of the recto

  • is your MP2 all stock or modded?

  • @brandon9271 I did a noise-gate mod but to be honest it made no difference so I'd still call it "stock" in the sense that it still has original sound.

  • Sound quality of this video is terrible.

If anyone makes sound clips, make them sound pro or else don't bother!

  • @darthinfurnus

Sure. I go to the professionally recorded shit before buying amps, which, includes EQ's, the best effects, a bunch of polish, and shit that disguises the actual sound of the amp. NOT. The point of the video is distinguish what it sounds like in a real-world situation. In this case it's a Sony DV-Cam Camcorder's audio input through the air. Speaking for myself, when considering buying an amp, I don't want polished recordings to reference--they all end up sounding the same.

  • Lot of money difference for a little sound diferece, ive got the mp1 and it sounds great!

  • Sound almost the same. Sell the Mesa =)

  • BUSH!!!!!

  • @PixelMassacre This is by far the best comment I've ever read on youtube! In case my comment gets lost in the mix I'm referencing the comment you made about listening to the pseudo-professional sounding clips that disguise the amp's actual tone. This proves that you aren't like the rest of the sheep that lurk YouTube and forums who have no idea what the hell they're talking about. I think I love you! LoL.

  • I tweaked EQ's as close as I could on the MP-2 to duplicate the sound of the Triple Rec with the mindset being, "If I wanted a TR sounds through my MP-2, what would my settings be?" I had to up the mid's alot.

But no, nothing official. I hit the record button when they both sounded pretty close to the same to my ears.

  • The two preamps are not quite compensated for obvious differences in EQ.

  • The ADA sounds muffled, and yet 'sshsh-y'. Typical of such early gear rack preamps. (I'd use my Taboo Artist long before that thing, and it's all digital.) The Mesa is way gutsier, yet more defined and tighter.

  • Dude, I thought you were Rusty Cooley

  • what r u talking about? u played good and good tones

  • def like the recto better, but that sure is the second best tone to the rec. awesome comparison and playing!
