Here are two of Bankstown's garbage trucks revving hard early on a Friday morning while grabbing a heap of garbage bins. These GenVs are generally known to work like lightning, but the truck appearing in the 3rd clip looks like a bullet! Also gotta love the sound of these mean machines when the autorev kicks in...

Thanks very much to the drivers, hope you enjoy the action, please rate and comment. Be sure to take a look at the videos of the big blue green-waste truck and speedy recycling truck at work.

Body Make: MacDonald Johnston
Model: 22m MkV SPORT : Standard Refuse Body
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: Bankstown City
Contractor: Civic Services (Council Works)
Collection Type: Garbage / Trash

  • how did the driver know at 4:37 that the garbage hadnt emptied yet, do they have a camera or something? you can see how close the bin is to falling in, its happened before

  • Yer there's a monitor inside the truck showing the hopper - he probably saw a bit of grass fall out and must've assumed there was plenty inside... you get an idea of how much should come out of each sized bin.

  • Doing the little bins I see, pretty cloudy day too! Sucks when shit like that flies outta the bin and all over the truck (when it's all the resident's fault--usually)...funny though when there's more that gets left on their property :D Loved the ending btw and OMG I see another Botany Bay video in your uploads!!!

  • Oh that day actually turned out nice and sunny, until late in the afternoon when the clouds took over again... while I still had to get home hehe I don't understand some residents, just so thick in the head... they have a greens bin available with more space, so why not use it??? Thought I'd snap that townhouses shot up for a nice clip, but I reckon I should've positioned myself beside that last line of bins to save all that unecessary catch-up... ah well. Thanks for the comment and watch!

  • Awesome As! so do Bankstown still use the older trucks for garbage collection or just GenV's and dont Bankstown also have GenV Recycler's for recycling?

  • Bankstown's fleet is made up of mainly GenVs, but there are a handful of MkIV refuses & recyclers that are about the same age as the recycling truck in the other video. I think they still have some of their older trucks which are used as spares, but otherwise it's these MkIVs or GenVs. Yep, there are GenVs used for recycling... wouldn't mind making a second trip to get one on video now that I think about it:)
