Jesus said to the Apostles: whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; whose sins you retain, they are retained. What you bind on Earth is bound in heaven; what you loose on Earth is loosed in heaven. We human beings have responsibility to see evil and sin or to choose forgiveness and love. The modern responsibility is to loose the "sins" of the Old Law. That was the whole Christian message. We're supposed to "edit & reinterpret" the Bible.
Dr Crosby, sort of ironically, reveals one of the really important themes in the gay cultural and gay spiritual "movement": the modern "ability" to reinterpret and understand religion. That human beings are now able to view world cultures and world history from a modern, scientific all-encompassing perspective is a triumph of the evolution of consciousness. We can now understand what religion and myth was really about because we're able to see it in larger context, in the so-called Big Picture.
Some great resources that use lots of research from heterosexual and homosexual researchers are What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality and What the Bible Says and Doesn't Say About Homosexuality. If I hadn't done the research I too would have just taken these verses at their face value. Paul also wrote that women should not tie up their hair or wear jewelry and lots of women in churches do that every Sunday.
Isn't it amazing how homosexuals think they have the ability to edit and re-interpret the Bible to accept sin?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
